The Paste Roll Height Monitor is an easy-to-use tool designed to eliminate defects and improve end-of-line yield. Using lasers to detect the presence of solder paste, the technology monitors the height of the paste roll to provide operators with a new level of process control.

Consisting of two sensors that sit on either side of the squeegee blade framework support, the Paste Roll Height Monitor uses laser technology to set up a ‘light curtain’ to signal solder paste presence or absence to the printer. In addition, as the paste roll starts to recede, the tool enables the printer to issue a warning so that operators have time to react before the solder paste completely runs out.

Once the warning is received, the printer can either be programmed to stop and await manual replenishment, or the paste dispenser can automatically engage to deposit paste. The result is nothing less than significantly enhanced value-of-ownership.
