PumpPrint® Stencils cover a wide range of applications ranging from the now industrial standard of SMT adhesive application to silver epoxy die attach, high volume depositions of solder past and extrusive reflow. PumpPrint® stencils allow surface mass image printing of any multiple combination of deposit heights even on pre-populated surfaces in one single print stoke cycle. PumpPrinting opens up a wide range of manufacturing process alternatives with potential for reducing manufacturing cost along with process cycle time reductions.




PumpPrint® is the fastest, most flexible and cost-effective way to deposit adhesives. It is much faster than conventional dispensing, with the ability to deposit thousands of multi-height glue dots in one go with fast production line rates. Applications involving other electronic materials such as solder pastes, underfills and encapsulants also benefit from PumpPrint® technology.

The technique is performed using a standard screen printing machine, requiring no modification, making it a cost-effective solution that maximises existing capital investment.

PumpPrint® stencils are made from a plastic material that is easily and accurately machined. They are available in a standard thickness of 3.0mm to suit any assembly, enabling deposit heights from 75µm to >2mm.

The stencils are machined with a series of circular apertures or slot configurations. These act like an array of dispensing nozzles that are already perfectly positioned over the required location of each dot, allowing deposits of different heights and patterns in almost any shape and size. The stencil material can also be pocket machined to fit over pre placed components.

Standard PumpPrint® stencils are available as mesh mounted within a standard mesh mounting frame using polyester mesh as normally applied to metal mounted masks or as DEK’s VectorGuard® PumpPrint® stencils combine PumpPrinting with the strengths of the VectorGuard® frame-mounting system, which include cost saving in storage and transport, easy handling, rapid changeover and environmental benefits.

The standard VectorGuard® frame attaches directly to the PumpPrint® stencils, with no modification, and can be used directly on the printing machine. DEK’s compact and convenient VectorGuard® stencil storage systems are also compatible with VectorGuard PumpPrint stencils.

VectorGuard® PumpPrint® stencils are available in two standard sizes, 23” x 23”, and 29” x 29”, in 3mm thickness.
