High Performance Underscreen Cleaning Rolls
Regular, effective stencil cleaning is fundamental to maximising pre-placement yield. But modern fine-pitch assemblies and other advanced screen printing applications require cleaning performance beyond the capabilities of conventional, paper-based cleaning materials.
High performance cleaning rolls are available from DEK, featuring advanced Sontara® CleanMaster fabric to enhance cleaning using the printer's on-board, roll-feed USC mechanism. International chemical specialist DuPont has specifically developed Sontara® CleanMaster for SMT production. It features an advanced structure for outstanding strength and absorbency, with reduced lint. The result is a significant gain in stencil cleaning efficiency.
More effective removal of printing residues is assured, as Sontara CleanMaster is extremely absorbent. Even small quantities of paste, adhesive or solvents are removed from the stencil underside, preventing bridging in fine-pitch assemblies and allowing downstream processes to be completed at full efficiency. Simply replacing the conventional USC rolls with Sontara CleanMaster drives up end of line yield and build quality.
Lint or other particles left behind by ordinary cleaning rolls can block stencil apertures and prevent gasketing between the stencil and board. The structure of Sontara® CleanMaster prevents linting, aiding paste volume consistency and eliminating bridging or smearing that can result from poor gasketing.
Sontara® CleanMaster is highly resistant to tearing, even when wet. This promotes continuous machine operation by raising MTBF; avoidable machine downtime and operator intervention is thus reduced. This translates into enhanced throughput, greater line utilisation and improved production scheduling.
Sontara® CleanMaster rolls are compatible with all DEK screen-printing platforms and available in a range of standard widths, directly from DEK.
