SMT Process Design, 2 days TR-P-PD
This module provides the skills necessary to design and optimize a screen print process. This includes specifying the most appropriate process hardware, optimizing the process parameters, controlling the print environment and maintaining a smooth production flow with minimum print defects.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the impact of lead free on the process design.
Upon completion of the modules the student will be able to:
Identify screen print critical success factors
Describe solder paste design criteria
Describe stencil design rules
Identify substrate design characteristics which affect the screen print process
Select appropriate Squeegee / ProFlow design
Choose the tooling solution most appropriate for the process | Select suitable USC paper and solvent
Establish environmental conditions (temperature and Humidity)
Optimize critical product file parameters
Design a smooth production flow (throughput and time between prints)
Identify process design causes of defects
Review process design using checklist |
